It is located 80 km northeast of Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Sonamarg is located at a height of 2800 km, surrounded by snow-covered fields, glaciers, and calm lakes which have captivated travellers for centuries. Sonamarg acts as the base camp for the trekking routes which leads to the mountain lakes like Gnagabal, Satsar, Vishnsar, and Kishansar.
